Prometheus Moth Watercolor Giclee

We found a chrysalis attached to our garden hose and put it on a shelf outdoors. One day I found a beautiful moth hatching out of it. While it was still I took a picture and used it as the basis of my watercolor. The background was an interesting accident.
Signed and numbered  giclee prints are available in two sizes: 5X7 with a white border to fit 8X10 frame and 8X10 with border to fit 11X14. All prints are on 100% cotton rag, acid-free museum quality paper.

In giclee printing, no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt.

The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. K Nichols’ giclee prints are created using professional 8-Color ink-jet printer. Modern technology printers are capable of producing incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets. SCARED SCRUFFY Photo Print

Our dog, Scruffy, did not like moving to the Hill Country. All of the new smells upset her. One day I found her hiding in the grapevines and took this photo. It is printed on a smooth vinyl and stretched over an 8”X10” stretcher frame. Hanger included.
